The AFCEA Augusta-Fort Gordon Chapter seeks to promote effective science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) teaching and to enhance the abilities of our STEM teachers within the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) Counties. Grants up to $750.00 are available for teachers to purchase materials for experiments and activities in the classroom. The Chapter has a long history of awarding grants to our local teachers in support of computer science, mathematics, technology, engineering and physical science laboratory efforts and class activities.
Applicants are elementary, middle or high school teachers in a Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) County public or private school system. Selections are based on the merit of each teacher's projects and program. Home school teachers may also apply. All recipients will be required to provide a report back on the implementation of their approved project within 60 days of receiving funds.
Recipients will be notified in December 2019 and will be recognized by the AFCEA Augusta-Fort Gordon Chapter during a breakfast ceremony traditionally held on the third Saturday of January. An announcement of the award recipients will be provided to local papers, AFCEA's "Signal" magazine, and will be posted on the AFCEA Augusta Fort Gordon website.
Annual Application period: October 1 - November 30, 2019
